November 28, 2023. More than a year has passed since I coloured Albert's template. Now I finally took up the challenge and drew my own version of the reference photo. It was also an experiment with some cheap aquarelle paper I had bought long ago, that doesn't work very well for aquarelle. So I wanted to see, if it could be utilized for color markers instead. It's probably not the best, but I think it worked okay. I'm not 100% satisfied with the final version - especially the antenna, the chimney and the thingy that ended up looking a bit like a boat on the blue building, didn't turn out as I had hoped. The more I tried to fix them, the worse it got, hahaha 😂 Now I know how not to do it next time 😋 As a kinda warm up for the project, I drew and coloured this old mill (don't mind the blades being wrong - I realized too late that opposite blades also face opposite directions). But I'm happy with the outcome :) Here under is my first attempt with the colouring stage, using Alberts practice sheet.
