These pans feature a raised “16” on the top of the handle, heat ring, and an assist tab on the front of the pan. The pan is HUGE. It takes up an entire rack in a standard oven. It is believed that they were made inside the Kentucky State Prison in Eddyville, KY in the early 1900’s by inmates. This.

It is believed that they were made inside the Kentucky State Prison in Eddyville, KY in the early 1900’s by inmates. This skillet has also been seen with the name “Southern Casting Corp” on the bottom. This means the mold could’ve been sold after the Prison discontinued production. The Southern Casting Corp was located in Nashville, Tennessee and burnt down in 1949. Cleaned and Seasoned, ready to display, use, or gift! Sits flat with some side to side movement, no cracks, rust, or repairs. The pan does have light pitting throughout, but can still be used with absolutely no issues!
