The Cucurbit Breeding Project at North Carolina State University set out to determine if burpless cucumbers actually cause less burping or if it was more of a marketing term for Asian trellis cucumbers, of which Muncher is one. So, they fed so-called burpless cucumbers to both burp-prone and non-burp-prone judges.

The White Wonder cucumber is a stunning ivory shade. It has rounded ends and some spikes that wash off. Fruits grow 7-9 long and 2.5-3 wide. It's vines are highly productive even in strong heat. Between 35-60 days, fruits will reach full size and are ready to be harvested. Because of its crisp texture and unique white color, it is great for adding to salads, but is most commonly pickled due to its mild but slightly bitter taste.
